Aamir Khan-starrer Dangal’s China box-office collection will cross its Indian box-office collection
Dangal has grossed Rs 301.50 crore so far in China. Will the Aamir Khan-starrer make Rs 400 crore in our neighbouring country?
In a strange turn of events and what is clear indication of the star power of Aamir Khan in China, the Chinese box-office collection of Dangal will probably cross the Indian box-office collection of the film!
Dangal was released last week in China. Yesterday, it earned an unimaginable Rs 87.66 crore in a single day thereby pushing the collections to Rs 301.50 crore. The Indian box-office collection of Dangal is Rs 387.38 crore. As such it is only a matter of time before the Indian record is broken.
This is great news for Indian cinema, Bollywood films and of course, Aamir Khan fans. Ever since Dangal’s release in China, it has been the number one film at the Chinese box office leaving even the Hollywood biggy Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 behind.
Aamir Khan enjoys a huge fan following in China. It began when his film 3 Idiots relased in China and people really took a liking to the film’s themes which they resonated with – educational pressure, parents’ expectations, resistance to authority, etc.
Due to the immense popularity of Aamir Khan in China, Dangal was screened on the first day of the Beijing International Film Festival as well. So will Dangal, released as Shuaijiaoba, Baba (Let’s wrestle, dad!) in China, be able to make Rs 400 crore in our neighbouring country? Let’s see.
